Some recipes just come with sweet memories—and this one brings back so many. I’m so excited to share my good friend Stephanie’s Red Wine Sangria with you all! We raised our kids on the same street, and whether it was book club or a casual girls’ night, her sangria was always the highlight of the evening.

It’s the perfect mix of deep red wine, bright citrus from fresh orange juice and sliced fruit, a touch of brandy for warmth, and just the right hint of sparkle from prosecco and Sprite.
I recently made it for a barbecue at my sister’s house, and let’s just say—it was completely gone before the last guest even thought about leaving. I’m so glad Stephanie was generous enough to let me share this crowd-pleaser with you.
Cheers and enjoy!

Stephanie’s Red Wine Sangria
Ingredients
Method
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, and orange juice.
- Stir in the sugar until fully dissolved.
- Add the sliced fruit and stir again. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Just before serving, add the Sprite and prosecco for that perfect sparkling finish.
- Pour into glasses filled with ice and garnish with an extra citrus slice if you like.
Notes
- Prepare the fruit ahead of time by slicing your choices (like oranges, apples, berries, or peaches)
- Bathe the cut fruit in a little lemon juice to help prevent browning
- For a small party, portion the fruit into individual glasses and place them next to the pitcher of sangria so guests can pour their drink over the fruit
- For a large party, set out a bowl or platter of fruit next to the sangria along with empty glasses
- Add a small note encouraging guests to fill their glass with fruit first, then top with sangria
I love serving this in fluted stemware or even simple wine glasses if the evening is more casual. Let the fruit float freely, and be sure to have a spoon nearby to enjoy those sweet, wine-soaked slices at the end.
For a non-alcoholic version, I’ve linked this lovely mocktail sangria from The Mindful Mocktail. It’s just as refreshing and perfect for any guest who prefers a sip without the spirits.
Cheers to recipes that bring people together and glasses that are always just a little too full.
