Spring is the season for beautiful hydrangea centerpieces and I am a huge fan of the mix of hydrangeas and roses. This spring hydrangea and rose centerpiece combines fresh, spring colored florals that make for a beautiful mix and stunning centerpiece for your next centerpiece.
How to Create a Simple Hydrangea and Rose Centerpiece
Using hydrangeas and a mixture of roses and spray roses, creating the centerpiece is quite simple.
First, fill up your favorite vase with some water. In order to make your hydrangeas last longer I would suggest the following:
How to Make Hydrangeas Last
- Put them in water right away – right as you get home
- Add flower food to your water
- Remove all leaves
- Cut tip of stems at an angle with super sharp scissors
- Refresh water every few days and make sure to cut another 1/2 inch off each time
With that, your water should have some flower food. Perfect!
Next, you will want to place your hydrangeas in the vase. Cut the stems of the hydrangeas in the middle of the vase slightly longer than the ones on the rim to create the dome shape. I suggest using enough to really fill the top and make for a fluffy cloud-like look.
Then you’ll place your roses. I suggest alternating colors and place them around the hydrangea cloud. Alternating the roses and spray roses, evenly throughout the hydrangeas. See my picture below for an example.
The best part? No filler needed! Thanks to the fullness of the hydrangeas, I don’t think filler is necessary. You could add some baby’s breath, though, for a nice touch!
That is it. You should have a brilliant, easy-to-make arrangement after that. For other easy arrangements that stand out, check out my tulipiere arrangement and orchid bowl arrangement next!
