You’re invited to a seat at my stunning blue and white Mother’s Day table. I have decorated this tablescape alongside Joanna Buchanan’s tableware products and feature some of her stunning pieces throughout. Become inspired thanks to this beautiful blue and white Mother’s Day table setting.
In my family, the mothers get together on a separate day from Mother’s Day. We get a chance to chat, share war stories, and celebrate our role. On Mother’s Day, we would go ahead and celebrate with our immediate family.
This table setting is an idea for a pre-Mother’s Day celebration. You can get the mothers in your family together or some friends that are mothers. Instead of all out brunch or dinner, share light bites and a tray of charcuterie with some wine and enjoy each others company.
This is second table of the Garden Inspired Series. The first was a brilliant bright yellow daffodil-inspired tablescape that I just adored.
This table was inspired by the hydrangea petal embroidered on the dinner napkins and the beautiful bird napkins holding a bit of Lily of the Valley.
Both of these items were new additions to my growing collection of stylish Joanna Buchanan tableware products. I decided to use as many of the products from her line to set this table since they go well together.
I used my favorite blue and white damask pattern tablecloth. I wanted that casual elegance of a garden party so I used their woven placemats with a ruffle edge.
Since we were eating charcuterie and light bites, I used one of my favorite desserts plates from Juliska in Sitio Stripe.
I paired the hydrangea napkins with the beautifully bird napkin ring. I placed them on the plate so that it looked like the bird was going to fly in the patterns painted tree.
Make sure to have fun with the details and your accessories on any table you make.
Gold bamboo flatware tied in with the gold of the napkin ring and added a bit of sophistication. Clear wine glasses added some height and the green tumbler introduced the color of apple green to the tablescape.
I wanted the centerpiece to make a statement and tie in to the blue and white color scheme. I pulled from my collection of ginger jars and used a couple of miniature white jars from Global Views x Williamsburg Brand and placed them in the center of the table.
I filled the tall ginger jar with white hydrangeas and a shorter jar full of green hydrangeas to tie in the green that already existed on the table. I felt like these arrangements were sufficient for this table as I saw the patterns on the napkins adding to the “Flowers” on the table.
You can easily add interest to one flower by adding miniature flowers that act as visual texture. I got these miniatures from a plant nursery.
I put this tall arrangement at the front of the table to create some drama, but once my guests sat down I would take this away and put it on an adjacent sideboard where it could be admired and not block my guests’ view.
This is key. Be conscious of your guests and do not offer centerpieces that are too tall for conversation.
This napkin above is one of Joanna Buchanan’s new introductions and with its garden- themed pattern and a white plate. it would be a beautiful place setting alternative for this table.

All in all, when it comes to setting a beautiful blue and white tablescape for Mother’s Day, keep it simple. Piece some varying patterns together such as I did here with the tablecloth and then pair it with a coordinating plate pattern. Aside from that, keep table details to a minimum to keep things easy.
