Inspiration for Your Fall Alfresco Picnic Tablescape
I was inspired by the Piper Floral collection by Pottery Barn and out came this beautifully done fall Alfresco picnic tablescape. The beautiful colors and patterns in the plates and fabric lend themselves to so many combinations I’m sure you can combine it with some of your own china too!
When I first saw the Piper Floral Bird Dinner Plates from Pottery Barn, I was in awe of their beautiful Fall colors and details.
The collection draws inspiration from the realistic visuals found in prints from the early 20th century. Their Piper motif is a genuine masterpiece. With its exquisite Queen Anne edging and stunning color palette, it’s truly a work of art. This versatile stoneware is ideal for special occasions and looks equally fantastic whether you choose to display it on a shelf or set it on the table.
The accent plate and the tablecloth in this collection were the inspiration for this fabulous fall Alfresco table setting.
Most of this table is from Pottery Barn including the Piper Floral Bird Table Cloth, Piper Floral Bird Accent Plates, Sorrel Toile Print Organic Napkins, and Bamboo Flatware.
I loved the vintage feel of the dinnerware collection that the birds and colors brought out and decided to expand with this vintage-style floral tablecloth. Then I pieced the table settings together. It easily mixed with some of my Spode blue and white plates and other blue and white pieces of my entertainment collection. I included my Graces Teaware teapot, my Blue Asiatic Pheasant Blue Dinner Plates, and my Sweet Swirl Water Goblet and it turned out to be a beautiful combination. The fun of setting a table is bringing your new and old pieces together, especially if your new pieces already have a vintage feel they will look well paired with your other vintage pieces.
The main place setting on this tablescape features the Spode Blue Room Georgian dinner plate collection. These plates were the first plates to start my blue and white collection, the same plates I used in one of my first entertaining workshops and all the blue and white love on my sight.
Creating the Fall Floral Centerpiece
These beautiful fall arrangements were in small vases and used a mixture of colorful zinnias in bright Fall colors accompanied with some Lysimachia and Gomphrena Purple plus a bit of greenery. In the woven vase, you will see bunches of natural oat grass. I thought this pairing was a wonderful touch to the fall harvest tablescape.
