Elegant Red White and Blue Tablescape for Patriotic Holidays

Today I am making setting the perfect table for your patriotic holiday event easier with this elegant red white and blue tablescape which is packed with both high-quality and inexpensive pieces that truly pack a punch. This red white and blue table setting would be perfect for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and more!

Choosing the Best Tableware for Your Red White and Blue Tablescape

With today’s table, I’m showing my love for blue and white while also showing my love of chinoiserie with the addition of the ginger jars and the embroidered napkin.

Something that I think every hostess should do is build up their collection of basics, and for me, that is a full supply of blue and white pieces along with chinoiserie pieces. They can blend so well with a variety of table setting occasions and truly level up your place settings.

Having a full supply of blue and white pieces, for example, made creating this red white, and blue tablescape incredibly easy! I chose some of my favorite blue and white pieces and then threw in a few touches of red for the occasion. But the key? Building up that collection.

Building Up Your Elegant Tableware Collection

Building up your collection of elegant tableware doesn’t have to happen all at once, or cost you an arm and a leg for that matter. You can set a table that looks like it cost a million bucks with a combination of expensive and inexpensive items.

This table is about combining items that are priced high and low. The key is becoming armed with the knowledge of the names of quality brands so you can easily know what to invest in and know to look out for them and find them less expensively in resale shops, antique sales, and local discount stores.

I’m a believer in investing in quality pieces that you love and supporting them with other inexpensive goods. When you put them together well, the whole tablescape is elevated and looks to have a much higher price point than what is actually true.

Like I said above, the key here is knowing what brands to look for. The French brand Laguoile for quality flatware and the Italian brand Murano for beautiful stemware are two quality brands to keep top of mind. Ginori, is another Italian company for plates that make your heart sing (at least it does mine Lol!), and Kim Seybert for gorgeous linens for your table. Southern Tribute is one that is great for quality hand-crafted napkin rings and home accessories.

Elegant Tableware to Invest in

When it comes to flatware, the French Laguoile brand most vendors start at $170 dollars for a 20 piece set but I was lucky enough to find my set for $49 dollars. Another lucky find, are these beautiful cobalt blue Murano wine glasses, at $7 dollars a glass saying they were a steal was an understatement. Because of my knowledge of these brands I was able to pinpoint these quality products at my local Homegoods.

The small dessert wine glass and the low ball cocktail glass featured on my table were both vintage finds. Shopping vintage and resale stores are great ways to find quality items for less (again, know your brands and you’ll find some great steals).

I’m a big believer in investing in tableware pieces that are important to you but if you educated yourself on what brands you want to grace your table, you’ll have choices on where you want to invest your dollars.

A great place to find vintage glassware is Charish. Check out these vintage low ball gold cocktail glasses.

How to Include Elegant Tableware in Your Red White and Blue Tablescape

Like I mentioned earlier, having a collection of elegant blue and white tableware makes setting a red white and blue tablescape incredibly simple! I loved focusing on the two colors and then adding in the pops of red. That way there wasn’t too much going on at the same time when you looked at the table.

For the majority of the table, I used my blue and white collection. As you can see with the blue and white table cloth, placemats, napkins, drinkware, and decorative pieces, I have a lot of blue and white! Then to add some red into the mix I decided to use red dinner plates and add some red to the floral centerpiece.

Elegant Table Linens for a Red White and Blue Table with a HACK

I love using fabric to create a custom tablecloth and on this table I found this striped fabric for 40% off at my local craft store.

Aren’t these Kim Seybert blue and white dinner napkins fabulous! The trend to have linens adorned with embroidery details is still running strong. These napkins are a beautiful choice to add a bit of that trend to your collection and it also add a bit of my chinoiserie love to this table. I also see these linens as investment that is a must for my growing collection.

Red White and Blue Floral Centerpiece

If you’ve seen my other summer tables you’ll quickly notice that hydrangeas are one of my go-tos for a floral centerpiece. I wanted to do something different this time and inspired by all the celebrations in the summer that the colors red white and blue are perfect for I ended up choosing this group of flowers. A beautiful arrangement can easily be made if you know what flowers go beautifully together. So here are the flowers I included in this arrangement:

So I’ve shared some of my designer secret sauce by dropping some brand names to find some quality products for your table. Educating yourself on quality brands is the secret to stretching your dollars, once you are equipped with that you can also find your lucky find anywhere from online shops, antique stores, and your neighborhood discount store.

I hope this inspires you to create your own red white and blue tablescape, we would love to see what you create. Please make sure to tag us at @ivoryandnoire #inspiredbyivoryandnoire.
