Why Choose a Blue and White Tablescape?

A blue and white tablescape is a classic for a reason. It is timeless. It’s delicate touches + subtle color scheme are perfect for so many occasions and the most fun part is that it can be easily dressed up.

Last year I put together a lovely chinoiserie blue and white tablescape that my friends over on Instagram adored. I was very happy with that table and it inspired me to continue playing around with blue and white tablescapes.

That is how the one featured in this post came about.

So why choose a blue and white tablescape?

3 reasons:

  1. It is timeless
  2. It is easily customizable
  3. It can be put together for nearly any occasion

Why Are Blue and White Tablescapes Popular?

As I mentioned above, this beloved color combination is so popular because it is so versatile. From baby showers, to bridal parties, brunches, and Sunday dinner; blue and white tables shine.

Personally, it is my favorite color combination and my go to for most occasions.

Beautiful Ways to Tie Blue and White into Your Spring Tablescape

There are so many ways you can tie blue and white into your next table setting and gear up your collection with these timeless pieces.

Here are some ideas:

White Plates: White dinner plates are a classic that can be used with most any table setting. From dinner plates to salad plates, they all work!

White Tablecloth: Now, it doesn’t have to be solid white. A floral white tablecloth or blue and white chinoiserie tablecloth would be stellar choices.

Gold Flatware: Not blue and white, but they go so well with the color scheme every time.

Blue and White Napkin Rings: Napkin rings are a fun way to add that pop of a themed color to the table.

Blue and White Candles: Candles are another way to dress up the table easily in the theme.

Blue and White Bud Vases: Pair these beauties with some white hydrangeas or blue flowers and you are in for a beautiful, fresh look.

Blue Crystal Goblets: I have a set and they are my favorite addition for blue and white tables!

Chinoiserie Ginger Jars: These make for beautiful centerpieces and they add some extra flare to your table.

Blue and White Salt & Pepper Shakers: Again, small elements with the themed colors are a great way to stay on theme.

Those are just a few ways to bring your elegant setting of blue and white to life. Add a touch of spring via some florals and you will have quite the table!

Elegant Blue and White Tablescape for Spring

Now for my blue and white spring tablescape.

Here are my best tips and exact tips used to pull together a beautiful blue and white spring tablescape:

Use Layers: I love layering tablecloths. Using a plain colored tablecloth on the bottom and using a printed table cover on the top is one of my favorite ways. Nothing says French country chic like a toile fabric.
Vary the Height: Table a combination of high and low pieces.
Add Texture to Your Stacks: Woven chargers combined with gold rimmed navy chargers. The pattern on the Spode dinner plates is similar to the pastoral scenes on the toile fabric. This a way to layer patterns on a table, finding  plates that are similar to the fabric you are using on the table.
Add a Touch of Gold: I love adding gold to my blue and white tablescapes. Ornate gold flatware and gold rimmed glasses add a glint of gold.
Add Different Height Arrangements: A way to add drama to a table create 3 arrangements: 3 different heights- each holding holding a single bloom.
There you have it. My best tips for piecing together a lovely blue and white tablescape for spring. I hope you are leaving this post with some ideas for piecing together your own!
